I like all of those ideas! I agree with the jewelry thing- for one thing, who doesn't like to get jewelry? Also, it's a really broad topic so I'd say let your imagination run wild. Is it wrong that I am like, counting the days until I find out who my partner is so I can get crafty?

Yes yes, I am sad.

When you wist upon a star...

I'm currently lusting over bird's nest necklaces and jewelry in general. Personal swap partners sought! :-)

ooh or how about one of those bags made from book covers??!!!! (not that i can make those, but seems like a great idea!)

so i was thinking something like a hip belt that can hold a pen and pad of paper, we always need to take notes and make lists. Grin (there was a posting on craftster that was something like this, but maybe smaller)

book jewelry is super cool, like if you shrink the image,

i got a wood box from michaels that could be turned into a "book" they also have book shaped ones that you can add handles to. today i am going to a used book store and going to buy their old harlequin novels with the great cover art.

also, you could use an iron on transfer and make all sorts of cool stuff. (did i already mention that i made a shirt from a book cover that said 'girl on the bookmobile' with an awesome picture, that i wore on my shift for the bookmobile? it was a big hit!)

teehee, that shirt sounds rockin! yeah i was thinking of making shrinky dinks of pulp fiction novel covers and using them as jewelry, and also of doing the iron-on transfer thing. i just got a huge order of different inkjet papers (transfers, shrinky, decals, vellum) and am dying to try em out!!

this is my first swap and after reading all the post i am so excited!

i'm a writer, a book lover, and a future librarian all rolled into one. i'm starting my first semester of grad school for library science on august 29th, so sending and getting a craft for this swap will be the perfect way to celebrate!

yay for craftster! and yay for exclamation points, too!!

I totally admire people who do this! I have worked at the library since I was 15, and my friends used to ask me "do you get paid for this?" to which I would respond "of course I get paid for it, why would I be here if I didn't get paid?" I just didn't have the volunteer spirit I guess. LOL. Library volunteers rock my socks, they're awesome.

I've been so wrapped up in my other swaps that I forgot how fast this one is coming up... I'm so excited!

Does anyone know when we'll get our swap partner's info? It'll probably be within the next few days right?
