UPDATE:This necklace came in 2nd Place at the 2013 San Diego Fair for Original Beaded Design!!!

I started this necklace with $30 worth of new beads and some from my own stash and NO plan or reason.
When I began this project this was all I had to start with:

I had NEVER tried freeform but had always really loved the idea of it. As the bezel came together, again no rhyme or reason, I began to wonder how I would make the straps...

I found as I beaded it just "came" together all on it's own. I have never really been one to really like that type of crafting. I loved rules to my beadwork and this was breaking all of them!

The biggest anxiety was once the first side was finished, I had no clue I would replicate it for the second strap. I knew they wouldn't come out exactly the same, but I figured if I could do it once then I could do it again... I hoped!

Once it was all finished... but I am sure I could always add more... I put it on to find it really isn't as heavy as you think it would be all the differences make it so unique! I know I can never replicate it, but boy would I try! Here are some shots of the detail to the straps. As well as the closure which is a simple Terra Cast Pewter Leaf print button!

And finally it being worn! (Sorry I didn't have a great shot with all of me... ha ha) I love how it's all a little different. No two "waves" are the same but the pendant still manages to be centered... I don't know how I made that happen! But I call her "Waves of Grace"

This is stunning! I like how the dangly beads almost look like a coral reef!

Very pretty, I especially like the shape of the straps! The colours make it very 'beachie'. I also like that decaying shell (I hope that's right, translated that..)

I hit this rocks (and I learned in another board yesterday that I can do that in any post, yeah)

I absolutely love how original this is. Everything flows nicely together, and the fringed pendant is stunning. I could never sit down and figure out how to do this, but it definitely is beautiful. Smiley

I really like how the straps reflect the shell slice shapes, and I LOVE the lampwork beads you used.  Beautiful work!
