What are you guys using as keywords to search for monsters? Just "monsters" or are you looking up specific ones?

I can't wait to start!!! I made a board also, I bet I'm really annoying when every five seconds I say "AWWwW!!" lol

I've just been using 'monsters'. But go check out some boards titled 'monsters' you might find different keywords in that stuff.

Oh my gosh I would love to do this swap, but I can't do any plushie making, sculpting, or any thing else that would be 3-d very good.  Cry

Are there any rules against modifying something that is already 3D? Like, I dunno, zombifying a thrift store find? (Either a knick knack or a plushie?) Just a thought.

There's not a "rule" against it, just make sure that the item is a base for the project, and not the project itself (i.e. buying a plushie, and painting blood on it, or gluing a few bits of fur, would not be acceptable. Buying a knick knack or plushie and using it as PART of the monster [a leg or arm], is fine).

Here's a few tips from Moderators about crafting items for swaps:

Put as much effort and thought into your crafting as you can.  If you would not use it/like it yourself, then don't send it.  This is all about the "Golden Rule".  Send unto others what you would want sent to yourself. Dont send items that are broken, sloppy, or look as if they were thrown together at the last minute. Be proud of your work!

If you are thinking of using expensive supplies, or of making something that takes an extraordinary amount of time, please discuss this with your partner. We dont want you to feel cheated, or your partner to feel guilty for not sending "enough".

Unless you are participating in a supply swap, make sure the majority (if not all!) of the items you send are crafted. Its ok to include small purchased extras that you know your partner will enjoy, but the large items should be handmade by you. This is a craft site!  It is not acceptable to send purchased items when your partner is working hard to make something for you.

I picked up some supplies at the store today to do a trial monster. I have something sitting on my desk at work that I'll need, and something else that I gave away that I might need to "borrow" back... at least parts of it...
