I started mine, I am using all stash supplies not one thing has been recently purchased. Red white and blues are my favorite color combos. I used the super simple free Penelope Tote pattern. My mods are a zip pocket, key leash and magnetic closures.
Cutting Out

I was out of fusible interfacing so I just used my favorite adhesive. It is great for applique too, no gummed up needles.

Wow, You gals have been busy.
Kookaloo_Starr-great bag, the patch gives that special pop
liliv-1 I love the contrasting thread, that will look great
texscrapper- clever bag, love all the already built in pockets you will have.  I am a pocket maniac.
gozer- Wow, my sister would Love that bag, where did you find the fabric?  The raven on the pocket inside is awesome.

I have been working on my bags.  I am making 2 different ones from the same pattern.  I keep deciding to add and change things though-like adding metal rings.  I had to place an online order for them  so I am eagerly awaiting their arrival.  So far I have one bag's shell done.  And the second interfaced and on it's way for the shell.  I like sturdy bags so I added extra interfacing and handstitched it on, to avoid the exterior fabric having any rumples.  Here is my not so exciting picture so far:

I have never seen added interfacing. Are you just sewing thru the ironed on layer of interfacing or into the focus fabric too?
I am rethinking my fabrics for the Sunburst bag. I can not find enough fabrics to go with the original fabric I had picked out. I think I have found another theme I will like just as much. Now I have to save up and buy more fabric.

But I really want to destash some of what I have so I may make some smaller easier purses while I collect the materials for mine. I want to make purses for my cousins for Christmas. The way I procrastinate I should start now.
I am thinking this pattern in green zebra for one of them...
I made it once before a long time ago and I don't remember it being that bad. Is zebra still popular? I know I have a full yard of it somewhere deep in my fabric stash.

Crafting along nicely :)

Found this thread last night, and OMG - you girls are fast!

I love all the bags so far - and will be stalking religiously, until I take the plunge and join you all! Been meaning to turn so old jeans into a bag, so might actually do that now  Undecided

So this is the pug face bag front. I appliqued black parts for the eyes patches and the lower face and sewed in some wrinkles. The nose is still missing and I m waiting for the safety eyes I ordered to put in. Then I can baste a plastic mat cutout to the back for support.
Parallel I am working on a Bulldog and a Dachshund. Have to take pictures of them too.
And I need to order zippers. They don't have the ones I want in my shitty hometown fabric store.  Cry

I am collecting any kind of skull shaped beads and patches-feel free to send me spare ones  ;-)

gozer--your purse turned out great!  I am always torn between a lining that won't show dirt and a lining where you can see your stuff...I love the light lining!

texscrapper--how cute!  The John Deere fabric fits the denim so well!

liliv-1--I see now how you make the bow attach to your purse! Cheesy

Glamis--the is amazing!!!

diesels mom--I love seeing your process...I love the idea of using machine embroidery spray...ha ha looks like my glue stick can be saved for other things!  I love the Penelope bag...I might need to work on one of those

I have not been so excited to work along such a great group of purse makers!  Like Kaz said--be sure to post in purses, too!  We want everyone to see your final project! Cheesy
