I am currently working on the following pattern:

I am working on making the octopus (I made the starfish and it came out great)!

I am stuck on the following part of the instructions:
Row 20: Skip first sc, sc in next 22 sts, slip st in next st; turn.
End Short Row Shaping-Round 21: Ch 1, sc in each st around 36 sts.
Round 22: * Sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; repeat from * around 30 sts.

For Row 20 (which I completed) I would be left with 22 sts as I have been completing short rows.
Row 21 says to end short row shaping and sc in 36 stitches - but I only have 22 stitches. Do I skip the slope made from the short rows and go back to the row before I started short rows to complete the stitches, then sew the gaps later?

Thanks in advance! Smiley

Hi, I know this is a bit too late but in case you still need help.

I think you are supposed to sc through the slope and around, since rows 16-20 had you skip one stitch the difference should make up for it and you should be able to do 36 sc all around even through the "slope" that was created by the short rows.

Hope that makes sense.
