So for the first time ever my husband bought me chocolates for Valentine's Day.  He even thought to buy a metal box so that I could reuse it for something crafty - but I have know idea what to do with it!  It measures about 12'' across and 1.5'' deep; any ideas?

Awesome!  What does it look like?  My first thought was to paint it, and punch a design in it, and stick a light in it to make a hanging lantern.  Then I thought it could be a good base for a neat shadow box (and then you have the lid to make something with too.  I would love to see what the design on the outside looks like - is it painted on, or is it a removeable label?

I had one of those.. I punched holes in the top and used it to make char cloth (for fire kits), but I'm thinking it might get a glitter coat like so many thrift store shoes! (with lights in those little holes!)

Spray the inside with Pam and fill it with cookie dough, add smarties on top and bake. Give it to a special someone

Paint it then make a collage using pet or family photos and gluing them to the heart shape.

You can put little compartments inside and use it as a jewelry tray or a display tray at craft shows.

There is a cross stitch pattern of candies that I've seen that can be framed inside a recycled candy box which would be perfect.

You can use it has storage for your accessories or jewelries and add some design to make the box look more cute and fancy.

I made myself and a friend and owl each using the box and the lid. Smiley

How totally freaky and awesome are these ideas? What an interesting use of trash to treasure concept. I like them! They don't look super hard to do, other than bending of the forks. But they really look good! Did I say I like it? Ya. I really do.

I have no idea how you saw a heart shaped tin and thought to turn it in to an owl, but it's pretty cool. Very wacky, I like it  Smiley
