It seems like all my fellow MAQ rd 6 people are posting their art quilts, so I'm going to join in the craze! I made this for tapestrymlp for her Harry Potter theme. Her pinterest is full of Luna Lovegood pins, and I really like Luna, too, so I came up with this:

I used blue and yellow, Ravenclaw colors for the front.  I know in regards to actual "quilting" there's not a lot. Once I added the embellishments, there wasn't much room in the front for good stitching features that would look right, and with all the Luna's on the backing, I didn't want to take from that, so I tried to find space on the front where I could quilt, but where it would match to empty white space on the back, and a shape which would work with my theme. I settled on about 6 small quilted hearts.  It's more "art" than "quilting" but it was fun to make, and I haven't really used fabric paint much, so it was a fairly new technique.  I'd say, if it were being judged on technical difficulty, it wouldn't score highly, but on fun and whimsical, it'd soar with a high score.  Thanks for looking!

Here's a close up on the front before I put the binding on:

I used fabric paint to create my Luna:

And lastly, I found this amazing fat quarter on Spoonflower that I could not talk myself out of because I knew it would be perfect for the backing:
