When I saw this http://knitionary.blogspot.ca/2015/05/capturing-summer.html, I knew what to do with a lot of time in my grandmothers garden. I spent two weeks with my parents there and my father observed my doings over a span of a few days rather amusedly. I think he was impressed how long it could take to get some raisin-like beads ;-)

I actually wanted gold beads, but they only had weird ones at the local shop. I thought maybe to have the gold cups face each other to make a bead, but in the end decided to use them as intended- sometimes the coincidence produces the best results!

I never heard of making beads from roses!

You did a fine job!  I wonder if the beads do get smoother over time as they are worn?

Lovely! The beads came out really beautiful… Do they actually smell like roses?

Thank you for the compliments! They actually smell like roses, but only faintly. The roses I used dind't smell strongly either, so I guess the more the original rose smells, the more the beads will smell! I would love to try this with lavender, I think it might work! If you try, elderflower, let me know!!!

Oh, and yes, they should become smoother over time- there is a picture  at the bottom of the blog post I linked and it shows a necklace of very old beads!
