In my mind it was going to be simple and sparse... but as per usual my things have a mind of their own and this one ran away from me. Three wee waxy mixed media canvases mounted in one half of a checkerboard case and compiled with loads of lovely things. The overall size of the piece is around 14" x 7.5"

A short while ago I purchased a lot of vintage photographs which included a band of boys sitting in the woods, and two photos of children, dressed in white, sitting on a rug in the grass. Looking more closely at the images you can spy another figure in white looking on... a bride! So, when my little collages using those images turned out rather dark, I thought it was actually quite fitting, for a band of pixies and imps would most certainly have a night wedding!

That little bit at the top? It's a walnut shell filled with handmade toadstools, a tiny real four leaf clover and ladybird to bring luck to the impish bride and groom. Flanking the walnut shell are two clothes pegs nicked by the pixies from my clothes line and hidden beneath the hanging tree until properly aged.

The moss at the bottom is from our hill, gathered near the spot the faerie rings sprout in the spring.

this is simply beautiful, as is all your work.  I love the composition, the dark board and the bough of woods and wonders.

Beautiful work. The mushrooms and moss remind me of something from Wonderland, love it.

This is one of my favorite pieces that you have done. It's so beautiful!

Any chance of giving us some closeups of the individual photos?

Even though there are a lot of details, it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's so thoughtfully put together. Love it!
