Well I came across the post for the monster purse through featured projects.  Since she took her pictures down, I'm linking to my purse pictures in my reply to her post.
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=34261.150

So add a little disappointment from my partially failed attempt at making that purse without a tutorial...
...add a little interest from a reply post on that topic about maybe knitting one (I can't knit)...
...add a little desperation for a cell phone cozy (my son recently took my phone apart and chewed on my sim card and I had to buy a new one)...
...add a bag full of scrap yarn and scraps from my "monster purse"....
...and lastly add being up at 3 am bored out of my mind...

What do you get???

A crocheted Little Monster Cell Phone Cozy....

Tada....

This is the front.  Obviously it's a girl and she doesn't have a name yet =(

This is the flap open with my phone sticking out. (It's T-Mobile Samsung E315 LOVE IT!)

This is the back.  I made the loop for my belt or for a caribeener clip when my belt won't work.

Tell me what you think.  Any name ideas?

For those that prefer to make their own here's a small TUT...

I used a J hook (It's the smallest I have)

1.  Ch until you have enough width for phone
2.  Sc   2 1/3   the length of your phone
3.  Sc both sides together (remember to leave that 1/3 for the flap)
4.  Sew on applique for face and teeth.
5.  For the loop I Sc onto the back then Sc enough rows off until I have good length
and then Sc it back down to the back.  (Sorry if that's confusing I made it up as I
     went.)
6.  It looked a little boring so I added yarn (folded in half) by tying it down with a
different color yarn for the bow.

I drop my phone a lot too, but mostly my son gets a hold of it...and I tend not to take it away because I don't want to here him cry and it keeps him out of other trouble...I didn't expect him to eat my SIM card though....$25 for the replacement and a week without a phone while I wait for the mail (on a holiday weekend no less)...

Here's the Baby Girl Monster...

And finally I made a boy...got the eye idea from another post...

Well I finally decided on a name for my first monster (the purple one I carry)....

I named her "Leah" after the craftster admin because if it wasn't for this site I never would have made my cute little creature....

Awwww!  This means more to me than if you'd named your first-born after me.  Hee hee... Grin
