Hello,

I am new on the forum and I love all the beautiful projects I have already seen. I have just started using chalk paint. I have got a few old chairs which need to be refreshed ! I have painted my first chair and distressed it (maybe too much !!). The chairs will be in different rooms so I will paint them with different colours. My first one in blue :

Please, tell me what you think about it.

Thanks for visiting.

I like that blue - and the paler distressed patches make me think of jeans.

Lovely color!  What's the color for the second chair?  I've been wanting to try some chalk paint too.
My only suggestion would be, when you're distressing, think about how a chair would naturally get distressed, (People sliding on and off the seat for example.). That would mean distress marks would go front to back.  Just something to envision on the next one!  Can't wait to see it!

What a lovely shade of blue! I second Onyxnox, it made me think of jeans as well ^_^

Thanks for your replies and welcome.

It is true it looks like jeans now you say it. I like that idea !
The next chair will be painted in a sort of violet/lilac colour called Emile. When I had finished the blue chair, I thought the distressing didn't look natural enough, a bit too much ! (the contrast is also accentuated on the photo) so I will try not to overdo it for the next one ! I agree with your advice, thisbirdsabsurd.

Now I need time to do it (holidays are over) !

Ooh, so pretty!  The more I see chalk paint used, the more I'm intrigued.  I must get some.

Great advice re: the natural stress areas and direction.  I wouldn't have thought of that!

Very pretty blue, and I too look forward to seeing the other ones you planned for the other rooms.  Great chairs.
