Perfect analogy, waggonswest!

And people are producing so many wonderful things -- no summer doldrums here!  I'm going over the pages tonight to catch up, but I wanted to start posting some of my own work over the next few days.

25. Kaylees Flight Cap

This is one of a series of knitted things I made in memory of the long-lamented TV show Firefly.  This was for the spaceships mechanic, who had a penchant for pretty girly-things, and is double knit with a fluffy tan boucle inside and crewel embroidered flowers on the ear flaps.  If Id been smart, I would have just bought a flight cap at the Army surplus store and embroidered that, but given the opportunity to make up an over complicated pattern to knit, you know what I pick!  Altho I was ready for something a little simpler

26. Twirly summer tops

I luuuve knitting with cotton in the summer.  These are for two little girls whose mothers are good friends of mine.  I hope they dont show up in the same place anytime soon.

27. New kitchen counter top

Doesnt look like much, but I cant tell you how nice this is. While I have a big kitchen, there is very little counter space.  So I moved the refrigerator that used to sit in this corner, installed a salvaged cabinet from the Habitat store, and cut a nice long countertop.  (I could get one that was 18 inches too long for $60, or a custom made one for $200.  Cutting the laminate and MDF without chipping it was tedious, but it looks great.)  It was a sign when I found the perfect sized stool on the curb the next day.  All-in-all, the project cost me less than $100.

28. Raspberry and strawberry jams, sauces and dessert spread

In the on-going effort to save summer, one jar at a time, I present: White Chocolate Raspberry Spread, simple raspberry jam, strawberry and mint jam, and strawberry-ginger ale sauces.  Some are going out already, but some are being set aside for Xmas presents.

And one of my favorite-ever craft projects.
29. Mommys birthday puzzles

My 82-year old mother is having problems with memory and attention span, but she still likes puzzles, and she and I have spent a lot of time lately going over old family photos.  I made these puzzles for her, using blanks from Dharma Co, and transfer paper.  I printed copies of the pictures of her as a young woman with her family, and a big family reunion last spring, and put them on simple chipboard boxes.  She got busy as soon as we cleared away the cake!

I love that puzzle idea!  What a great way to spark stories of the past.  Smiley

Challenge entry

I was in the inchie house swap. I made an inchie tree house because I would love to have a real one, at my size!
The base is a tree with swing and rope ladder.

The house has shingles and a thatched roof.

Inside, the cat is looking out the window while one can take a book and relax on the couch.

A view of the tree house in the tree.

These inchie houses are a lot of fun to make, but they're also a bit addictive.

I feel like I have been gone forever too!

Never thought that starting a new job with different hours would be so exhausting.  Tongue

I made three mini amigurumi weeping angels this month.

(picture to come)

This past week on my lunch breaks, I made this:

He is now a hanging ornament, but my phone isn't connecting to the wifi at work right now, so I can't upload the picture... grrrrr.

Then I turned these:

into this:

APPLE BUTTER!!! nom nom nom nom

For the Hoopla-a-long for August, the theme was '10'. (As you all know it's craftster's 10 yr anniversary this month.)  So I here is my hoopla.

My 10 year anniversary is this year too! Cheesy

I know I've made more things... but it's been tough having access to my sewing machine lately. My seven year old daughter has been kinda hogging it! Cheesy (She has made herself a rice bag, two stuffies, which she shared with her little sissy and an eyeglasses case for me!)

I also made my very first grown up dress for me!!

It's my favorite peachy/orange color and I LOVE it!

Then I finally got around to finishing a WIP from last year.

This is Autumn's.

And below is Winter's:

And they complete the set that I started last year!

Many beautiful projects here.  I'd be interested to know if there is a recipe available for white chocolate raspberry spread.
