Bushbaby, love that the straps on your backpack are convertible. What did you use on the interior to make the bag so sturdy?

Actually its just stuffed with a pillow for the photos!

I just love tiny things, including scraps...I made some coasters using the tiniest scraps and they just up the cuteness factor!

I just never saw a quilt made with such small pieces...it fascinates me...I was saving all those tiny bits for papercrafting, etc. Since that is not my passion, the box of these was getting to the point of bursting!  I imagine that once I get going, I will know what size I want to do my blocks...I am guessing smaller than larger so that I can feel that I can make a project with those I finish...

Thanks for prompting me that I need a bin or basket next to my machine to hold these... off to the Ace Hardware after work for a lidded bin...they are on sale and I have a coupon...woo hoo!

Dh thinks I'm carrying the conservation bit too far, but what does he know? I think it's fun and challenging plus we'll ultimately have a warm quilt from the process. What's not to love?

Remind your DH that some women would rather go shoe shopping that make quilts from scraps, and that shoes start at $300. I'm sure he'll give you less of a hard time for at least a week after that.

(Seriously, my sister has a few pairs of several hundred dollar shoes. I don't know why, since she never goes out, and they aren't really work-in-IT-department wear, but they make her happy, and her other half likes to buy them for her, so *shrugs* My partner spent that much money on me, it better be electronic and run on Android! lol)

Octopus.  I'm not real thrilled with this one, to be honest, I don't think the eyes worked well.  Typically I use safety eyes, but for reasons I tried embroidering them on.  Worker for the tiger (beginner's luck?) not so much here.  Also, it's way smaller than I thought it would be, based on the pattern picture (which lacked scale, I can now see!).

Smeddley, that first one is a Digimon, which were around before Pokemon.
It looks like a cross between Lopmon, who is brown and pink, and Terriermon, who is white and green. I suppose pink and white is a fan creation.

Yeah, the pattern was mint green and white, but she requested pink and white.

So... Terriermon is a character who is a Digimon?  Because the pattern said "Digimon", I think, but everyone in the swap was all "Ooooh, Terriermon" and I got confused.  I know absolutely nothing about Digimons or Pokemons, because back in my day... *cue rocking on porch and reminiscing and yelling at the young people to get off my lawn!*
