Mio--if you don't like the bunching, slide the stitches onto double pointed knitting needles and do a gradual decrease..you can get down to about four stitches and then close them up...I did a long stocking hat that way to get a much nicer closed toe

I made myself a sweater guard out of some clip on earrings and chain. (Does that count as odd materials?)

It keeps slipping, so I may need to modify it... maybe fuzzy velcro or something on the back to help keep it in place... hmm...

I also finished a table runner. I just want to wait for it to be received... Wink

I love the red and white one...and the hat is just too funny! Grin

deathbeforedishes--I love the sweater guard. You should try using some hot glue to make a rubbery surface...I do that to keep coasters from slipping around on the wooden tables...it might work to hold the sweater...

Quick question, maybe I missed it somewhere, but how long are challenges are usually opened for?

Deathbeforedishes, I like the idea of a sweater guard. Let us know if you found a way to prevent it from sliding. I would be interested in making one for myself.

I sometimes do monthly challenges but lately, due to my personal schedule, I have been making them for two months at a time...because of swaps and such toward the end of the month, I allow about a week to post pics, then a week for me to tally everything...prizes around midmonth.  Always check the first page to see the latest news and challenges and winners!
