My postal worker said something in passing to my dad about there no longer being small packets. I'm not sure if that means I now have to write a customs paper for each bubble mailer. I seriously hope not. But just in case I'm only going to take two with me. The line might strangle me if I have to write out ten at once.

I have always had to fill out a custom's form for every little bubble mailer. Even when it weighs less than an ounce.

Rings are on their way!  Being international, they don't have actual tracking, but I have been told that once they reach US soil, the customs number can be used to locate them, so if they are taking a little too long, let me know and we can test out the customs number theory!

I use the customs numbers to track until they reach a port to head international...January 27, all packages will become Priority Mail Service only, no parcel post... Sad...we will have to think of lighter and flatter projects to swap with our international buddies!

So far, I have received my TOL pendant, my cutest ever tutu,and my glass pendants...I have to review what else I am getting (more awesome stuff!)...I have not mailed out a single thing yet...still making them and want to do it all in one trip!

I'm bummed about the price changes too.  Sad   I didn't realize they took away Parcel post for international.  Maybe that's why the first class international rates went up considerably?

I had posted this in the Shop the Swap thread a few weeks ago, but maybe it will help someone here too.   Smiley

======================================================================
here's a snippit of the table for the price increases.  I skipped a lot of the rows in the spreadsheet because making tables here on Craftster is a bit fiddly, but I did include the lower 4 ounces and then some of the heavier weights so you can get an idea of the price jump.  (First class rates only go up to 64 ounces.)

First-Class Package International Service - Retail
--------PriceGroups--------

Overview (from October) of proposed changes:

And a link to the USPS page that has all the excel sheets to see the new prices (left sidebar under     *NEW* January 27, 2013 Price Change Info  )

And the chart for which country belongs to which price group:

What I didn't know when I posted that was that there will be First class international flats now too (not sure if this is a new thing for international or not) that will be less expensive as long as your package qualifies as a flat.  Smiley
