Project Name: CoMC cards
Brief Description: I don't know about you, but my kneazle loves to chase birds whenever she's outside! She knows the difference between real birds and paper birds, though, as she left my bird cards alone. Smiley

Class: Muggle Studies OWL (carry-over from Fall)
House: Gryffindor
Name: Evelyn's Stocking

So for my Muggle Studies OWL I made a stocking for my daughter's first Christmas.  Although witches and wizards celebrate Christmas too, muggles seem to get extra excited - possibly because it's one of the few times a year they experience what they think is magic!  I can imagine Mrs. Weasley stitching up extra-special stockings like these for Ron and Ginny's children, since they both married people raised in the muggle world.  How better to make a magical stocking than cover it with sparkling beads and sequins!

This took me almost two months, all squeezed into little crafting sessions where the baby was napping, on "daddy-daughter time" (where my husband takes her out for special time on Sundays), and late at night.  Overall hours it probably ran well over 100, since it's 100% hand-stitched and hand-cut.  All the little toys are whole, but are tacked into a pocket at the top.

Owl Project Update  Smiley

A sneak peak of my progress so far on my owl project. I have spent the past week working on the pixel pattern for the Johnny Depp lap quilt. Now of course I have to start cutting out all the little squares which I am not looking forward too. So much work left to go!

The Pattern:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Muggle Studies
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: NES Controller Pillow
Project Page Link: Pillow
Brief Description: A muggle actually approached me and asked me to construct what he called a "nintendo controller pillow." I investigated to find out that they are quite blocky and small. So, I did use an Engorgio charm to make it much larger and more pleasant for resting the head.

@Kit the Brave: It's been so long since I've made a bracelet like that. Maybe during this break!

@MamanTattoo: Thanks for holding me a spot! Smiley

@Pinkleo: Thanks! Your ornaments are adorable! Those owl post ones are sooo neat. I love the little feathers inside!

@indigo_roses: Lovely cards! I love the little birdie patterned paper.

AMAZING OWL! It looks like it took a lot of work...that is going to be cherished for years to come. (You finished just in time!) So awesome and so many little details. You have a lucky little girl. Smiley

@Supermutts: Yay for progress pics!

@TheBrokenButterfly: I love your pillow! I love NES.

Class: Charms
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Watercolour Trio
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Watercolours baffle me. I love them but struggle trying to figure out how to manipulate the paint. These little cards were made with watercolour pencils on watercolour paper. Yeah, even the pencils baffle me! Oh well, maybe if I work with them more I'll eventually be satisfied with something!

Oh! The original artwork is not my own- I saw the images on Pinterest and used it as reference so I'll add the link.

Okay, here goes:
consultingcorsair: I'm digging the mitts! Very nice.

Naantje: "Whatever you do don't drink out of my mug." That's what I'd say if I had that awesome cup.

FiberAlchemist: your cauldron is on fire! Way to get (amazing!) stuff done!

WhistleFish: Thanks for the ripple scarf pattern. Yours is so lovely! I mean manly.

pinkleo: I needs me a Molly sweater. Brilliant!

patty_o: if one day you wake up to discover your clock has been stolen, I swear it wasn't me.

indigo_roses: beautiful cards!

I think I have exceeded my daily limit of exclamations. Great projects everyone!

OWL progress:
I'm constructing Snape's body and searching for my stuffing.
I'm also working on something that will count toward my Charms lesson: I'm crocheting a scarf for my Snape plushie using the double stitch method, a method that I've never used because it always confused me. I've got the hang of it now though and it's coming along nicely. Cheesy
I only started on the scarf because I wanted something to work on in my spare time at work. Since Snape is being made of a white sheet, I don't want to take him to work and run the risk of him getting dirty so I decided to take some yarn with me so I could crochet.
The scarf will be green and silver striped for Slytherin's colors. Well, it's a pale grey but it's as close to silver as I could find.
