I have pictures on various computers, the camera, and my phone that I need to get together and post. And hopefully we are going out this weekend, so there will be more.

Last friday a friend visited. We went to see Ice Age 4 (I know it's been ages since it came out)
And Alby had icecream:

But don't worry we shared it, he didn't eat it all on his own.
He also met the new friends joining my fairycollection:

aren't they cute
He'll be helping me pack this weekend because the 19th november I'm off to Morocco. Which also means I'll be offline until the 1st of december Smiley

Have been remiss in posting, but Coccinelle is doing fine and later today I should be able to add pictures from last week when she had her first experience on a film(ing) set.

Glad to see Alby is making new friends as well as being good and sharing his treats (Ben & Jerry's...yummmmm).

Have a great time in Morocco, Natasjasdreams!

I brought Anuenue to work with me, but the problem is that I don't think we are allowed to take pictures on campus, at least not of anything interesting. My office is pretty boring, but the guys down the hall built the SAM instrument on the Curiosity rover. However, I decided to play it safe and just took pictures at the visitor center (the only place where they are allowed). There is a rocket garden with some big rockets:

Well, I did take one photo in my office while Anuenue was chilling with my tea collection and a couple of other little friends:

I finally have a picture! There's a few more around that I need to get on to my computer.

Sidney helped my OH drink some beer.

Coccinelle got her first taste of behind-the-scenes Hollywood last week when I worked on a couple of commercials.  The first was for a new internet-based mobile device insurance company, where among the (humorously exaggerated) ways we showed how a cell phone could potentially be lost or damaged was to drop a piano on one:

Even on a small shoot like this was there were a few dozen people among the crew and cast, and plenty of equipment (in addition to that piano-hauling crane):

A few days later, I worked on a fun internet spot for a major snack food company.  The story takes place in the jungles of Mexico...but we shot at a local botanical garden, and also on one of the garden's large open parking areas.

Out on the paved area, an open platform will become the top of an Aztec pyramid:

As we were shooting this sequence, it started to rain and didn't let up until after we'd finished around 9 PM.  So large canopies were constructed, one to cover the platform and the actors and another to protect the camera, and we continued to make movie magic:

Because of the weather, Coccinelle stayed tucked away warm and dry.  There hadn't been time to explore when we were out filming the jungle trek sequences, so Coccinelle and I will return to spend time at the beautiful Descanso Gardens some time soon.

There's a lengthy entry with many more pictures and details at Coccinelle's travel blog: www.coccinelleinla.blogspot.com
