Fabric Painted Picture Frame

  • glass frame
  • fabric paint
  • any type paper!
  • oval template (optional)
  • glue or tape
Oh and any picture you want to display! doh!
1) Take apart frame and trace the frames dimensions for the background  ( which is the pinkish plaid in this case).  Cut out.

2) Choose picture and use whatever template to create an oval if you choose..

3) put the frame back together with the background paper and glue / tape on the picture in the middle

4) bust out your fabric paints and start painting! the dimensional paints work well and give lots of texture.

This stuff lasts! i made this when my daughter was about 3 years old -and she's almost 7 now!

I made this for my daughters room ( i got the idea from a Michaels craft-sheet  - you could use a funkier style or different painting border to match other parts of the house?)

Great Xmas idea ?

At WalMart they have paint that would work... I don't know if it's specifically called dimensional, I just have always called it "puffy paint". Does everyone remember puffy painting shirts in the late eighties? Geez, I did shoes and purses, and hats... Pretty much anything you can get your hands on... So I know it'll work on just about any type of fabric. It comes in short little bottles, they are around 99 cents, and most WalMarts do have a ton of colors in their craft/fabric section.

Promise that forever we will never get better at growing up and learning to lie...
