I fill my own every year. I'm actually getting my swap stocking for my kids. I am doing a personal swap for something I have been wanting for a LONG time so I may see if my partner minds if I don't open it until Christmas Cheesy

There has been christmas stocking always in my house. I fill my bro & dh's stockings and let the boys fill my stocking.  When I grew up, we had to wait until after breakfast for tree stuff but stockings were fair game once you woke up. I still keep this rule.

When I moved in with DH, I put out 3 stockings on Christmas Eve.  He said 'what's in there?' I told him that I had filled his and my daughter's, but mine was empty.  He rushed to unwrap something and fill it.  Apparently stockings were never a big deal at his house, once he was a teen they didn't do them anymore.  I will probably do them forever - it's one of my favorite things! Smiley

My family was the same as your DH's, Sevs. My husband's family does Christmas up HUGE in every possible aspect. Even still, he still scrambles to do my stocking every year. I'm the one that plans out my gifts way in advance (being a HS teacher, this is a survival tactic!) and he starts shopping on Dec. 23 or so.  Cheesy

My DH is ALWAYS like that too, but not so much at Xmas.  i wonder why?

Im still here lurking in the dark. If I decide to do this swap, I might have to take two partners. After reading everyone post and realizing I havent gotten a Christmas stocking or present in years make me want a stocking for myself and my son.

I'm debating on switching to a large swap... I signed for medium. But I'm so... Into doing this, I think I could manage a large! I'm not sure yet.

Wanna know something? I put up stockings last year for DH. Probably mid-December, because we had just finished moving...
He forgot it was Christmas until I told him where we were going and he had to ask why! So last year I got nothing except for my family (and surprisingly his).
I was debating on signing up for myself, honestly... Haha.
I still tease him about forgetting. I mean, really!

TwistedTruth- I usually end up making more than I say I will and I think I'll do it this time for sure because I have a lot of my gifts finished for family already! Also we have a lot of crafting time. Muahahahaha...
