I was inspired by the scrabble wall art (http://portraitsofelegance.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/wall-art-scrabble.jpg) and decided to make one. But instead of tiles, I want to use photographs of the letters, like this http://www.lushlee.com/2009/10/perpetual-wall-calendar/, and maybe add a couple of family pictures too.

We're renting and I really have no idea how to hang this project on the wall without nails and holes as much as possible. I thought about mounting the photos on like foam boards or cork boards, but still how do I get those on the wall?! I also thought about those 3M double sided foam tapes, but there would be a space between the wall and the photo unless i put tape on all four sides, and with 33+ photos that would cost a lot.

Basically, it would be a bunch of photographs without frames, on the wall. The thriftiest way possible. I just want to resolve this issue first before I get started.

Thank you!!

If it's just photos, wouldn't regular double-sided tape work? I use that to stick random stuff on my wall and they hold up pretty well

just like zzdia said double-sided tape work great. put tape on all four side and don't exaggerate, just a small piece in every corner that won't cost much as  you said

With help of takker, picture rail hooks, poster putty you can hang frames with out drilling and nails.

There is also this idea of tying up a string at 2 suitable ends in your room. Then you can use U Pins and fix pics on those strings. This is a great idea and looks different too. You can change pictures often without damaging the pictures or the walls.

The double tapes would do, besides hanging them with nails would just ruin the letters. There are some double tapes that are very thin so there would be no space between the letters and the wall.

Have you guys seen the Command line of hanging solutions from 3M? A lady I work for uses them for a lot of things and LOVES them.

Get sticky adhesive hooks which stick on walls and hold the hangings.

I rent, and I use the 3m hooks. They are great!!

I have items hanging on my roof from them, and they still hold and never leave a mark!!

I have used them in 3 different rentals over 5 years without any issues

I am currently inactive, due to being hit by a car. I will be back on once I am healed

You can hang the pics without using the nails just put the double tap which is usually using on sticky hanging and it is also reliable.
