Ya, I remember sending a box to queenofmarigold and the PO lady told me to put it in the envelope instead of the box and buying the envelope and shipping in it was still wayyyy less than the box.  It sucks though when sometimes you just can't get away with an envelope

I absolutely love love quilts, do you think an afghan is a fair trade for a quilt? I'd love to swap!

There is no way I could have used an envelope.  I wish I could have, but, I just couldn't.  Mama24boyz would not have received her goodies in one piece/intact.  Sad

I have coupons for AC Moore and Michaels. I know how I'll be spending my Sunday afternoon Grin. Now if someone could just convince USPS to put coupons in the Sunday papers...

Awww, it's too bad it wouldn't have all fit.  You should have seen one of the envelopes I received from Ireland - I couldn't believe how much stuff was in it!  It had everything from pictures in frames to fingerless gloves!

We don't have flat rate boxes in Canada (oh how I envy you in the US for those).  We have flat rate soft packs or envelopes instead.  You're not supposed to use them for anything but documents for the envelopes, or bulky items really for the soft packs.  But one year I did a random swap and had a Canadian partner, and I stuffed the bejeesus out of the soft pack.  I had to supplement the sides of the thing with lots of tape if I remember correctly.  Usually if I go to my local PO, the main post mistress just chuckles and lets these things through.  However I was downtown for a work related class or something, and went to a PO near there and the guy behind the counter tore me a new one with a lecture about how they are supposed to be used.  In the end though, he did take it, "just this once, but there's no guaranteeing we'll do this again!"

I'm now about three quarters through what I think is my final project so hoping to send by early next week if not before. This last project has taken a while but so worth it - going to have to go out shopping for supplies to make one for myself!

Well... I was going to the post office to send out today... and alas! The road had flooded and was blocked off!
I took the long drive-completely-around-the-circumference-of-the-city way to work instead of the interstate and stopped by the ghetto post office on my way.
So, finally, sent! Yay!

Fine, fine, I finally made a Pinterest
