Ok, I wanted this soap to look like this:

Ummmmm instead it looks like this :-/

James Bond Soap:

70 oz olive oil
40 oz Coconut oil
40 oz Palm Oil

1 can coconut milk
32 oz water
22.17 oz lye

4 oz BB Drakkar Noir FO
4 oz Lemon EO
2 oz BB Juniper Breeze FO

1 shot of Vodka, boiled
Activated Charcoal
Red Brick Oxide

So everything's good until I add the drakkar noir..  it instantly rices, but I blend the sh$t out of it, and it goes smooth again..  the dividers in the loaf molds weren't flat enough, and wouldn't keep the light trace white on its side...  meanwhile, we tried to do a column swirl in my square mold, and that failed too..  because in the meantime, the colors with the drakkar noir and juniper scents had MASSIVELY THICKENED.. we're talking peanut butter 5 minutes after mixing in the scent...  so I panicked and just threw the colors together..

Also, the red pigment didn't mix in very well, and there are some spots of pigment that didn't integrate...  this is going to dye my skin right?  Like I can't sell this now?  I made 11 lbs, I hope it's salvageable :-/

At least it smells good, sigh..

Well, to start with it looks like you used a loaf mold and they used a slab mold...you're never going to get the same results if you're following a swirling  tute and using a different type of mold Sad

That stinks that that scent riced, I hate that! I've never soaped with vodka, what's it supposed to add to the soap? Do you think it caused the ricing problem or it was just the FO?

I'd wait for cure and use it and see if it's ok. I don't think it would dye your skin, I've had problems with pigments not fully dissolving and still working ok. Try it out on yourself before giving up on selling it. You could always make it into confetti soap (my preferred way of rebatching) or name it something funny and still sell it (like I did with my "muppet poop" soap...make fun of the mistake, embrace it!)

Man, I really thought they had a loaf mold inside another box to catch drips or something :-/   Shoot!  I still think I just didn't cut the dividers straight enough, the base was going everywhere..

The only reason I added the vodka is because it's James Bond soap haha..  doesn't do a thing for the soap, good or bad.  I divided up the batch after I added the coconut milk and vodka so I could do the colors.  So the white side had:

coconut milk
Lemon EO

the colored sides had:

coconut milk

I wondered about the vodka, but it was in the white base, and it acted totally normal.  I boiled it down to almost nothing and added it at trace anyway..  when I added the drakkar, the base changed color slightly right away and I could see it ricing.  ergh :-/

What was muppet poop soap?!  I need pictures haha Smiley
