I really enjoy making/decorating boxes (to be honest i have too many). I didn't take in progress pictures but it wasn't anything special. I started with a plain wooden box, painted it a burnt orange ish and then used a sponge to make "scratch marks" across the surface (i really like that look and do it in a lot of stuff i make) and covered it in mod podge. The flower came from a magaizine (a Pier 1 magazine actually, i think).

Most of the things i make can be kind of "busy" so i wanted this to be more simple.

This is how the inside originally looked but I hated it to I changed it later. I painted it a dark blue and did dark green scratches on the surface then glued magazine butterflies on.

I didn't like how it turned out so i covered it with a thick layer of mod podge with a brown tint left over from my last project.

You don't need a permit for a glue gun.

I love boxes! That flower and the orange go great.
