I am so happy to finally have this finisheddd! I worked on it for 6 months(which is a longg time for me, of course it was a last minute crochet like a mad woman to actually finish!)

It is tunisian crochet. All the tss. All 1600 stitches! 2 passes per row and all... Bahh. I watched a lot of House MD, Dexter, and various other shows to pass the time while making this. And I still wish I had made it bigger.

The colors from my friend's wedding are white, navy blue, and a little sage green. So I wanted to make a blanket that had those three colors. Found tunisian crochet and decided to do that... Ended up deciding to make a checkered pattern. I made 5 panels of 40 rows for each color of white-blue-white-blue. Then sc those panels together. Then sc around the outside of all the panels and then did picot stitch to give it a pretty finish.

This is the blanket finished on my queen sized bed. You can kind of see the green lines where I sc the panels together.

This the best representation of the colors.

Close up of the border.

I am sooo happy it is finishedd! My friend opened it at the wedding she was so excitedd! She knew I was making her a blanket just didn't know any details. She loved it!  Grin

C&C pleasee!!

What a beautiful gift for a wedding. I love the way you've used the wedding colours.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

This is lovely, you friend is a lucky girl.  She'll have this forever. I have a blanket I made over 35 years ago I'm still using.
