I have discovered that I love making journals and especially using all the paper bags that stores seem to be switching over to. I have already collected enough to make several journals, but seem to get two or three a week!!

Finished journal - the outer cover is some leftover wrapping paper.

Cutting the paper bags

Trim sides and bottom off to end up with 2 "pages" and fold in half - sometimes I leave one or both sides on to create a pocket in the journal (see next pic). Sometime I cut the handles off, but I like being able to tie things to them. My current journal has a page about a dress I made for a friend and it had snippets of the fabric tied to the handle.

Sometimes I paint them before assembling the journal, this one I painted a few pages and left the others for later.

Group into 3 or 4 pages to create signatures. There are so many tutorials out there for sewing and assembling a journal, I think I use a different one each time! I am slowly managing to get my sewing neater and tighter!  Roll Eyes It has taken doing a few though - the first one I did, only a mother would love!!
Folded side of signatures, ready for sewing.

Open side of signatures - I love all the handles!

Inside the journal

In this one I have also used magazine pages and some odd sheets of paper from my stash. To create the front and back I used the cardboard from a cereal box.

I have a feeling that I may be making several more of these!!
