I saw this interesting tutorial on the blog A Beautiful Mess and decided to give it a try!

Basically, you take a painted canvas from the thrift store, stick letters on it, paint over the letters and peel them off to reveal the colors underneath.

I used letters from the Dollar store, unfortunately they didn't stick perfectly and some spray paint went under them.  I said 'Try New Things' because I think we need a reminder to step out of the box sometimes!

Here is my question for you:

Does it look finished?  I'm trying to decide if it needs a little doodle or something after the 'Try' or before the 'New'.  If you have suggestions, let me know!

Oh that is lovely  Smiley I think the new thing I try will be doing this  Grin

Personally I do think it needs "something" but I don't know what that addition should be.
Thanks for sharing

I like it!  I think if you did something to frame it in one of the colours, like pink or purple, it would be finished.  I think adding anything more in the space between words could get too fussy.  Just mho.

Very cute! I love that blog. And hate it at the same time because I feel inferior lol. I think it would be cute with something added but I like it the way it is too.

I agree, I was going to suggest framing it in one of the colors. Beat me to it hahah! Maybe paint in one of the colors of that picture that you'd also like to bring out in your home (or wherever your painting will live), paint around the edges and maybe a quarter of an inch on the front?

As is, I really like it, too.

I love this idea! Definitely going on my to-do list Smiley I agree a funky/fun frame would complete it.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone!  I knew I could count on you!

A painted trim sounds perfect - I should have thought of that!

I couldn't spray paint the sides very well because it kept spraying under the letters.   So I'll paint the sides and give it some trim at the same time!
