so i'm in the process of revamping our small apt dining area to more of a floor-cushiony, low table kinda deal, instead of rickety card table and hella-uncomfortable folding chairs (can you tell we're grad students?) and I wanted some exciting wall art.

corks to the rescue!

in context

I used corrugated cardboard as a backing and pushed 3/4" applique pins into the corks through the cardboard, 2 to a cork, to hold them in place.  Smiley

Cute and a great way to recycle, if you can drink more, you should make matching coasters or something.

Hi,  I did the same thing but on a much larger scale many years ago.  It was about 3' x 6', and I hot gluedthem on a left over piece of 1/4" plywood.  I just used it as a huge "organization station" in mykitchen.  I used to work at a restaurant, so I got must, um, many, of the corks there.  Eventually I sold it ata yard sale.  $10.!!!!

A friend of mine did her back splash in her kitchen w/ the same technique!!!

Ah, more vino!!!
