I have a lot of dog loving friends who know I can sew and have asked me for various things.  One of those friends today asked me what she could do with the denim jean pockets she has left over from making a jean and shirt quilt.  I quickly ran this idea up for her....

A doggy treat bag made from a pair of jean pockets

I do have a tutorial with step by step pictures of how I did it, but need to do a few more posts so I can insert my own images and not have the poor mods have to change my links to images for me.

I really love your bag.  Would like to see your tutorial for the bag. Thanks for sharing.

Remove pockets from jeans and unpick top pocket seam. Cut out lining fabric using pocket as a template

Sew pockets right sides together leaving top open. Repeat with lining fabric.

Take strip of lining fabric about 1 3/4 inches wide and long enough to fit around lining "bag"

Sew strip into a tube shape. Insert an eyelet into the middle of one side of jean pocket bag about an inch below the crease of the top pocket hem and turn bag right side out

Attach lining tube to wrong side of lining bag at same level as eyelet with a small gap in the middle of one side. Thread with cord for drawstring.

Insert lining bag into pocket bag (wrong sides together) and thread cord ends through eyelet. Cut two lengths of webbing and get 2 cord ends, 1 toggle, 1 snap clip and 1 D-ring

Slide hook onto one piece of webbing and fold in half, and do the same with the d-ring and other piece of webbing.  Slide cord ends through toggle and attach cord ends.

Turn entire bag inside out and match up the side seams.

Turn first fold of pocket seam over top of lining fabric trapping webbing holding snap hook under the turnover in the middle of the back of your bag...

and the d-ring to one side of the front of your bag and baste in position.

Fold over the second fold of the top pocket seam and sew the seam

Turn right sides out
Et Voila, one treat bag made from a pair of jean pockets  Grin
