My husband's brother and his wife are expecting their first child in June. They are waiting to find out the sex of the baby when it's born (my husband & I are guessing boy) so it took her a long time to find a nursery theme she liked. What she fell in love with is beautiful, but very expensive. After buying the sheet set and the mobile she couldn't afford the rest, so she asked if I'd be willing to make some of the items. She told me what she wanted and I gave her fabric measurements. She went to Joann's and bought fabric to go with the sheet set and sent it to me and a few months later they are FINALLY done. I just mailed out everything today since her baby shower is the first weekend of May. She doesn't roam craftster so she won't be spoiled.

Here is the link to what she had previously bought. http://glennajean.posterous.com/tag/finley

And here is what I made her:

a throw pillow for the glider in the nursery

changing pad covers

snuggle flannel blankies

And a memory board

Side note about the chihuahua. That's my dog, Rita, who can be very afraid of men she just meets so when my brother-in-law came to our house for the first time he picked up Rita and she pooped on him. So I included this photo of her on their memory board.  Grin

I also made a mobile arm cover (can't really photograph that without a mobile) and another throw pillow which I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of. It's just like the other one I made, but with a solid peach fabric, the peach and white striped fabric, and a teddy bear made out of the peach with white polka dots.

I really hope she likes them and I can't wait to see how they work in the nursery. So...what do ya think?

So Kellie had her baby shower and seems to love what I made her and she shared some photos of the items in the nursery.

The mobile arm cover

Memory Board in action (there's also the sonogram frame we gave them when we heard they were expecting)

Both decorative pillows - one for a shelf and the other for the glider

So cute, and that's an amazing amount of stuff you've made for baby.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.
