My wonderful partner, Teachart, in the Invite Your Partner Swap Round 20, has a love of all things The Beatles!  I desperately wanted to make her something TM styled, but I wasn't sure what until my awesome husband told me I should go with a Beatles theme.  Smart man!  Abbey Road seemed the best route.

TADA!  As you can see they are basically huge TM patches sewed together.  They are about the size of a sheet a paper each.  To make this, I printed each Beatle out on a piece of paper.  I first applied Heat N Bond to the fabric I was using for the Beatle.  Using a lightbox and a water-soluble pen I trace the design onto the fabric and then cut out the design.  It worked well this way because then I didn't have to pin the huge image onto the main fabric and I didn't have to worry about fraying.  I knew it would just lay down flat!  It does make it super stiff, too.  It was definitely harder to stitch threw, but I only went around the edges of the design and didn't do a bunch of stitching inside, so it was ok.  I definitely wouldn't recommend using the Heat N Bond if you are going to be doing a lot of stitching inside the area.  I also used fusible batting for inside.

Oh, and I made this last patch with every intention of tacking it onto the bottom, but ended up not liking the looks of it with it on there.  So I just sent it along as an extra.  ^_^

The words are freezer paper stenciled on with fabric paint and then I did stitching around it.

Thanks for looking!

I don't know which Beatle it is, but the second one is my favorite. I like the fabric. It looks very Beatles era. Amazing job. Looks like a lot of work. I bet your fingers were sore!
