Long story (as) short (as possible): I wanted to sew a dress for a party and the pattern I picked/altered looked like crap when I made the bodice. That's why I decided to finish the skirt part as an actual skirt and simply wear it with a cute blouse and one of my corsets. And then I decided to make the corset myself - I had not quite two days to finish it and I actually made it  Grin

It was both fun and stressful. I couldn't bother about seams that weren't pefect, I burned a hole in the half-finished corset when pressing it (... and covered it with a lace applique xD), my boyfriend had to help me with the steel boning and eyelets and I made the last few stitches a few minutes before we went to the party.

I'm so proud that I made it! Or actually that WE made it, without my boyfriend helping me and cheering me up I probably wouldn't.

Here's a photo of me wearing the corset and matching skirt - with my boyfriend, my sister and her girlfriend:

And some photos on my dressform. Of course the corset isn't tightly laced there, but at least you can see some details:

That's gorgeous and the little lace panel at the side just highlights the whole thing: changes it from nice to gorgeous.

Yes, it can be done ^^
I learned to sew  corsets from online tutorials and practice, but a 3 week course sounds fun!

I love making medieval gowns, so some corsetry skills could help making more beautiful ones!

So cool! It looks professional! I want to be able to sew my own corsets one day too.  I hope they come out as good as yours did. (can't believe it was a rush job.)
