Glass cracks in the kiln. Especially when you use pieces you pulled out of a skip that aren't necessarily compatible with the powders. I love how this cracked. It has stopped being a copy and taken a life of it's own. Now I know why the figure is screaming and I now how s/he feels. The world is being torn apart.



I saw real copies of this in Oslo when visiting my brother who lived in Sweden at the time. A room full of them. I should really look at other Munch work. Was he a one hit wonder, I wonder?

I think the crack definitely adds something to it..its a nice happy accident i think Smiley Munch actually did plenty of nice paintings, though this is the one almost everyone knows. Its a bit of a shame really because alot of people dont know any of his other works. if you google "munch paintings" you'll see lots of other great paintings.
