I made this art doll for fiddlegirl8 for the Invite Your Partner 20 Swap.

I was inspired by an article that Andrea Stern did about her "Funky Fiber Dolls" in the Winter 2004 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine. She stuffs the legs and arms but leaves the bodies flat; I went for a totally non-stuffed doll.
She's designed to be a wall hanging.

It was really exciting to make  her. here are some up close pictures of some of the details:

I actually did the embedding of the mustard seed into this jewelry finding myself.

this gnome is her craftster avatar

i did a metal stamping of her favorite bible verse.

I was anxious about doing the IYP swap but im really glad now that she asked me. it encouraged me to stretch a bit more creatively Smiley

I think you've redefined yourself as a crafter with this art doll, Susan! It is fantastic.  Every inch of it is interesting to look at--great job!

I love her best - the art doll and SUSANAB!!! xoxox   Kiss   This has to be the most unique, most suited to me, most wonderful, bestest thing I ever received in a swap.  It is even more lovely and wonderful in person!  It hangs in my bedroom / sewing room, alongside my dressing table.  little d  (that's the name of my art doll) has now added some real class to my surroundings.  Thank you again, Susan!  You are an artist - I mean it.  This creation has raised your creativity and skills to a whole new level!  I am anxiously anticipating seeing more art dolls from you.  Smiley

PS _ I also hit "THIS ROCKS" - it's also one of the most unique, original art pieces I've seen on Craftster!
