I purchased a used moses basket only to find that it was broken right along the top.  Grrr.  So, hubby and I decided I would make my own...in essence.  I asked a local amish man who makes baskets to create one in his type of basket, to my specifications.  Wow! Did that basket turn out beautiful!

I made the bedding for it.  A liner with a pink ruffle.  I used the original cushion and made 3 sheets to fit.

Ahhh...isn't that basket gorgeous??  He only charged $35 to custom make a basket of this size.  The handles are thick straps of leather.

My mess up:  I had to split the seams on the end because I forgot that the basket angled out slightly on the ends.  Originally I took this into account but when I began fitting the liner I forgot to fold it over the edges.  This resulted in it not fitting over the top of the basket.

Those are two of the sheets and the other is in the basket.  Those turned out great.  This would all be a rather large undertaking for a handmade baby shower gift, but if it's for a sister/SIL/best friend...and you're looking for something awesome, this is it!

that is absolutely gorgeous.  I loved my Moses basket.  I miss being able to put my little ones in it.
