Ok ok ok, I saw this fabric in my local upholstery store. It's AH-MEZZIN. mappy-ness, I love maps and I haven't found any lovely thick map fabric anywhere so when I saw this I was like WOAAAAHHHHH got to have it! And then it sat in it's little bag waiting for the perfect project. Well. The perfect project hasn't come along yet (ideas welcome) but I had to make SOMETHING, so I knocked up a quick tote and stitched an old doiley to the front which acts as a pocket! I raken through my vintage button box and found two big buttons to stitch onto the base of the handles and tadahhhhhh! One super cute awesome mappy-atlas tote!

These amazing old atlas and stamp badges that bekibutton made for me will go perfectly with it!

The buttons are a lovely finishing touch.

I really like the way you can see through the doily to the lovely fabric.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

It is cute!

As for an idea, I would say a travel wallet! Smiley

I think your tote is great!  The fabric is so amazing, and it is only enhanced by the clean and simple design.  Love the buttons, too!  Good work!

What wonderful fabric!  I can see why you would have to buy it.

Try heartofmary's travel wallet to go with your tote.

I love it!  The fabric is really cool and the doily pocket is an excellent idea.  It really goes with the fabric.
