I received last week, was swamped with work and then promptly got the flu, so I haven't posted yet.. these are a little dark (I should have taken them earlier today).. I received a really amazing package with a super cute mug rug, appliqued tea towels, a tea tray, a coffee cup, a mushroom pen and some yummy goodies!  Thank you so much Perfectly Bohemian!

Here's a brighter picture of everything I sent. Plus the mug has a matryoshka doll on the other side Smiley And the towels have little strips on the edges, too.

Did you paint them on PB?

Yes, I did paint the mug. I have a set of Pebeo paints for painting on dishware. They are pretty translucent though, so I will probably only use them on white ceramic and glass in the future. The designs were much darker than I wanted. I've painted a couple of clear glasses before and it worked fine. The really dark, black looking color is supposed to be royal blue, just for an idea of how dark they came out...

I always come up w/really great ideas for breakables.  But, the last time I sent breakables through the mail, the PO broke both of them.  I wrapped them better than I used to swaddle my own babies too!  Wink  So, needless to say, I don't send breakables through the mail any more.

I've only received one broken package before, and I think it had more to do with the packing material than the post office. I've received a couple packages where jars were just wrapped in several plastic grocery bags. During shipping, that stuff just gets flattened. In amnesia's package, I used a combination of closed cell foam and bubble wrap that I had recycled. I also took a smaller box and cut it in half... then I put the cut box inside my shipping box to make everything more snug. The cut box was there as a space filler so things wouldn't wiggle around and break.

Only plastic grocery bags??!!  Oh no, no, no!  I use bubble wrap, foam peanuts, air bladders, the works!  I'll keep your cut up box in mind though.
