So, this quilt started out as a project for my ex's birthday. I wanted to do something really nice for him. But... then he broke up with me. I didn't want to scrap the quilt because I had already put a lot of time into it by then and fabric isn't cheap. I finally finished it over Christmas leave (except sewing the mitered corners in place -- for some reason I didn't do this when I sewed the binding up). I am actually pretty proud of it. It's not perfect, and it was MEANT to be a Rail Fence quilt (pattern from VictorianaQuiltDesigns), but I messed up with some of my cutting I guess and all my blocks ended up being 6.5"x6" rather than 6"x6"... and although I was doing my best not to half a$$ it, I wasnt going to go back and cut .5" off every block lol, so it ended up like this. It was a PITA (!) to quilt in my sewing machine lol. Next time I will definitely send it out to be quilted or rent a long arm machine. Enjoy the pictures, and sorry this was so long (maybe this is why I never seem to get around to posting projects I do...)

Super sexy mustang modeling my quilt.

Thanks for looking!

Well, good thing he broke up with you BEFORE you finished the quilt because now you've lost an idiot and gained a beautiful piece of art! I think it looks fantastic.

Great job restructuring your design -- I don't think anyone would ever guess this wasn't what you planned from the beginning!

Ha!  I love this sentiment!   Cheesy  Great job on the quilt, and I agree - better to break up before giving it to him than after!

I'm glad you think so! I was so upset when it didn't work out (I really love the Rail Fence for some reason), but I'm glad I made it work. It was kind of hard for me to look at at first, with the alternating grey/black, so that's why I quilted it on those parts like I did.

It won't let me quote cankle, but that is so true!  Smiley
