Ok, I think it would rock if we stopped seeing "Excuse my fat stomach," or "Yeah, that's my butt and I'm working on it" tacked on the end of clothing threads. Not only does it distract from the actual crafting and take over the thread with people having to reassure one another, it suggests Craftster is a place where we need to apologize for our unique bodies. Angry

I say, ENOUGH SELF-LOATHING!! It's your body and, fat or thin, dark or pasty, you shouldn't have to justify it to anyone!

Let's have threads that say, "Check out the skirt I made- It makes my ass look awesome!"

That's right!  All shapes and sizes make up this wacky wonderful world. No apologies needed.  Be big!  Be little!  Be crafty!

Thank you. It seems some people do it just for the reassurances/compliments they get. I for one refuse to acknowledge that they wrote anything. It's quite silly. We're not all Kate Moss here, and who wants to be?

out of town until July 10th...I will respond to any messages then.

I totally agree!!!!  Also, no more apologies for your dirty rooms!!  I never notice the socks hanging out of the hamper in the background UNTIL someone points it out.  We are looking at your awesome crafts in photos, not judging your bodies or rooms.

No more apologoes for beautiful, normal bodies!

I kinda like the messy room pics though. I get to see peoples craft areas and all the stuff they have out and I'm in total awe.

I'm guilty of saying this just a couple of days ago on my shorts post, but I was having an awful day and people kept on telling me that I'm getting "fatter and fatter" so I didn't want anymore comments about it.

Other than that I never really say anything other than "yeah i know i look like a dork" because I mean come on, who can take really awesome pics of themselves all the time?! Tongue But I don't think that's putting anything down.

But I agree! It's great that people on craftster wont comment on your body weight/look in a negative way - unlike some posts on a livejournal community that I watch. SO rude there! I'll try to make sure that I don't say anything negative about myself again!

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

totally my favorite too Cheesy

And I can't stand it, especially when a really "conventionally" pretty girl goes off on the ew gross don't vomit when you look at my size 4 figure and awesome complexion and lovely long locks........  Roll Eyes

So, maybe we can break a few girls out of this poor self conscious sub conscious self esteem killer...

Would you like to go to a pants party?
