Maybe it's only my problem, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only non-American here, and maybe others have encountered this as well. Would it not be possible to make it a general rule that all addresses should be typed as they should be written on the envelope? I have swapped a couple of times now, and often, when I received my partner(s) from my organiser, I just receive one line with the entire address on it. I live in Belgium, so American, Canadian, Australian,... addresses are sort of a mystery to me. I mean, I know what it says, but putting it in the correct order is sometimes a real struggle, as I cannot distinguish between street and state/city, with all those numbers in your addresses  Tongue.
It's just... I'm terrified that I might copy the address incorrectly and I would be considered a flaker or something like it. In the LV swap it was asked to type your address as it should be on the envelope. With all the correct spaces and lines.

Or would it make swapping too complicated?

I think that request is actually in the standard copy and paste swap starter, if I remember right...
I'm in the US and I get bewildered by out-of-country addresses and domestic ones sometimes. When that happens I just pop a pm off to my partner for clarification. Addresses can look very different from what they're supposed to be when they're written in all lower case without the correct spaces too  Smiley

The swap form calls for "Mailing address including the country".

If you're ever uncertain about line breaks or capitalization, the best thing to do is send a pm to your partner and ask them to type out the address as it should appear on a package.

People forget the country part surprisingly often... But I always ask to make sure, especially if I organise.

People will forget the country even if you double remind them in the form. Although I've noticed that non-US swappers tend to do it less, because we take it for granted that we won't have a partner from our country.

That's right, I always swap internationally, and when i fill my questionnaire i write the address in the form it should be on the envelope, with the country and all, and never in one line only.
I've had a partner forget to include the country, but while sending PMs, I always confirm the address before sending Smiley
