my son LOVED the Mario hoop, and I agree with queenofmarigold, instantly recognisable!.. great work....

and Sloth....the willow tree...wow!!... PERFECT!!....brought back LOTS of memories... we had one in our backyard when I was little, my older brother and his friends would always play in it, and being the 4year younger little sister, he would always tell me to leave him alone.... so I was kinda like the bunnies, just sitting there looking at the tree.... sounds a little sad, but they really are HAPPY thoughts, I looked up to my big brother so much that I was happy just to sit and watch .. Grin...
(now I need to go pin it!)

I'm glad you like it pugwash!  And one of your pins had the comment.  "willows are the best trees" that's what i ran with. Smiley I was so afraid of the paint part. I'll stick to fabric from now on.

Wow, two more fabulous hoops!

tarmine626 - The mario hoop is really great! So colorful and really fun!  The negative space really works well and the french knots really give the feel of movement!

sloth003 - amazing job on the willow hoop! the painted background is perfect and the tree is beautiful!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I just cannot beleive all the talent here!  I am in AWE!  and I feel bad for Sylwa that her hoop wasn't technically a negative space or sillouette.  I was going for a tweed owl sillouette but he looked like he needed eyes and then when I was done, he just looked like a normal owl.   Undecided

pinning the heart tree Cheesy

I'm working on getting a picture taken here, though since I've had to give up on this whole daylight thing I had to bring out the big camera - that in turn means waiting for the battery to recharge Roll Eyes But I'm getting there! It'll be worth the wait, it's an excellent piece mezcraft has conjured.

Pugwash, I'm happy you like the mario hoop! and happy your BF likes its back too Cheesy

Thank you all for your nice compliments.
It was a pleasure to make as many french knots, because day by day I felt like seeing the characters come to life et move on the fabric!

The willow tree is so nostalgic for me too, many childhood memories associated with this tree.

And the heart tree is so beautiful too, I like it!
