I bought this Italian linen almost eight years ago when I lived in Calgary. There was this great fabric store called Ant Hill Fabrics that was closing and I saw the linen and fell in love. Of course as a result it took me a long time to gather the nerve to actually make something out of it. I came across this tutorial last week: http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/05/free-pattern-month-day-10-adventures-in.html and decided I would turn the linen into a skirt.

I am really pleased with how it turned out. The only major flub was that I put the zipper flap in backwards. Instead of opening towards the back, it opens towards the front. I decided against fixing it because I didn't want to rip out the seams. Luckily it isn't too noticeable.  Smiley

I love the skirt. The fabric is amazing, and you picked a great project for it. Smiley

Nice execution. Looks like it was worth the wait for the right project to use your special fabric. I so adore this style skirt, but alas it does not like me. You look great! (little jealous)
