I saw something like this somewhere on line (I forget where, but will stick a link in if anyone recognises them) and I thought they were pretty cool, I had no intention of making any until I was shoe shopping.

I spend most of the time in plimsolls but its freezing, and feeling the cold is a predominant sympton of my health condition. With my cheap knitted boots being tired I decided I needed a new pair (mostly for nice new gripping soles!) But... I couldn't find any Sad I'm on a super tight budget and begrudge spending money on myself at the best of times... I have UK size 9(!) feet that are wider than average across the base of my toes and all of this combined makes shoe shopping a nightmare. So I ended up settling for an awful pair of those cheap faux-ugg style boots. I have to say I totally detest them, but they are warmer than my old plimsolls and neater than my old scruffy knitted boots. So they'll do.

But to make them seem a little less cheap I whipped up a pair of these cuffs Smiley I think they make a world of difference and make the boots more bareable (not lovable, but I'll settle for the improvement) Plus, I got to use some of the new yarn I got for Christmas but had no plan for AND the cuff makes the boots snug around my calves. Bonus, eh?

They fold over the top and tuck down in Smiley

As always I welcome C&C!!!

cute!  And the yarn goes quite well with the boot!

Great idea! I've been wanting to make boot cuffs (and other things), but the price of faux fur fabric is a little ridiculous ($12 - 15 a yard).
But I think I'll crochet like you instead!
I'm thinking about using the fun fur yarn.
I like yours though. And you could make different colors for every outfit!

Those are great! If you want really warm boots, you could add the cuffs to the top of boot socks. You can make easy ones out of fleece that will keep your feet super toasty  Smiley

Thanks Cheesy

I had that exact same thought last night Sunshine, hashed the idea out with the Mr and think I'll make some out of polar fleece and different tops for kiddies wellies Smiley Think they might sell at the school's craft fair if I can make them neat enough... Will def make some for my kids none the less Smiley

Love your idea of fun fur yarn LoveNtheOcean Cheesy:D
