We just moved into our new house recently and there are lots of bare walls. This is for our family room. It's around 4'x2'. Textured mixed media. Sorry for the photo quality. The pics were taken on my iphone.

I love your art!  To me, the mermaid's face looks like your avatar.

Did you use gold-colored paint for the sun? It glows Smiley Beautiful piece.

I really love your painting. It's one of those the-more-I-look-at-it,-the-more-I-like-it types.

I like how her hair curls.. I can just imagine being in the ocean (or, since I'm not a mermaid, I would be at a beach  Grin)

I really like how her body, even though it's under water, still somewhat visibly curls out into her tail which comes out above water. Usually, the mermaid's body tends to be the focus. I feel that in this case, that is not true. The focus (for me) is instead how she feels as well as how I feel looking at the scene.

Thank you so much for all the comments, everyone! You make me so happy!

@dulcet - so interesting that you say that. It's funny because people say that about a lot of my art. I wonder if it's my subconscious at work. I don't notice that they look like me, but once people mention it, I start to see it!

@eneris - thank you! Yes...gold paint. I love iridescent. I love the warmth and the glow it provides!

@oceanshell - thank you so much! Your perspective is beautiful. I like that this painting emits emotion more than anything else! Very cool!
