I found an instructional link to an 8 Point Star by Martha Stewart.  When my mother-in-law saw it, she asked me to help her make one.  The results is a 36" 8 point star decorated with Silver Bush Boxwood (plastic)

This project is a great way to decorate on a budget!  Especially when you use natural evergreens as the original directions indicate.

Very pretty - it looks great against the stone of the house.

That is really beautiful! I love the idea -- and it would really look amazing either silver or natural or however.  Will have to file this away for next year!

Thank you both for the nice comments.  There are so many ways you could decorate the star frame.  I would like to try the natural shrubs and maybe one with pine cones next year.  I will keep you posted!
