Made this purse for my brother's gf a couple weekend ago with MAJOR help from my grandma. Went and spent the day out at her house helping her with things, and sewing this baby up!

I used a simplicity pattern, I'm sorry I don't remember the number, I gave the pattern to my grandma. If it wasn't for her I never would have been able to finish it!

Pattern called for pre-quilted fabric, but I couldn't find any in patterns/colors I liked. So I bought two fabrics I liked, and some interfacing. My grandma showed me how to line up and quilt everything together. Turned out pretty good I think!  Grin

Overall view of the bag. There are little pockets on the front and back. I really like how the polka dots look against the pattern!

Close up of the pocket.

View of the inside. You can sort of see the two pockets.. There were suppose to be 4 but I lost them in the mess of pattern pieces and didn't find them til my grandma and I were cleaning up. We had a good laugh about that! She promised not to tell my brother's gf if I wouldn't! LOL

C&C always welcome!

Interested in doing personal swaps! I can knit, crochet and sew. Smiley

Great job, I like the look of the bag. I love that fabric, I've used it for a ton of projects.

Funny, I don't remember being absentminded...

I need a skein (two would be great) of Knit Picks Gloss Bare sock weight to finish a shawl.

That's a beautiful bag - your brother's GF will love it!  You did a lovely job picking out the fabrics (I have SUCH a hard time with that part!), quilting them and sewing the bag Smiley  BTW - 2 pockets instead of 4 = a design decision - remember that! Wink

I'm sure your grandma was thrilled to help you with your project - you probably made her day!

You chose great fabrics and did a wonderful job on this. Grandmas are great for helping with sewing projects- and they are so eager to teach. Beautiful purse!!!

The purse is amazing!  I LOVE the fabrics you used.  Your work is excellent.  But best of all, you will have the memory of making it with your grandmother forever!  Keep up the good work!
