I made this for Wil Wheaton, finally got it to him and finally am getting around to adding it onto here. I made it to give him at PAX East, but he wasn't there! So I had to wait until PAX Prime.

I used his blog Sprite Art as a map and made the QR code in an online generatore. For people who don't know, QR codes are a matrix barcode. Typically, it's a collection of black squares on a white background, tho any highly contrasting set of colours may work. I've seen black on pink for example. Each square and its location in relation to the other squares is translated by a barcode reading program as any sort of data, EX alphabet, number or kanji. It was originally invented for Japanese automotive manufacturers to use but is now found on many things.

A common use is its addition to pamphlets and information sheets. A frequent use is to encode a web address that a phone app can then read and you can choose to open and save in your phone browser. It's a pretty amazing way to transmit large amounts of data swiftly and through limited print space.

I applied it here, with full geek use, to say "Don't be a dick."

OMG! I LOVE IT! Did he like it? I always will love Wil. I have loved him since I was a teenager and he was a teenager. I still love him now.

I love your Sprite. It's perfect!

Thanks, SilverMoon!

lylacfey, He totally loved it. I had SUCH a crush on him when I was younger. I was absolutely in love with Wesley Crusher. Everybody else could have Riker, but I claimed Wesley. More then NKOTB. I was absolutely certain I'd marry him one day. Oh well! Instead I made him a stitch. :-P

Me too. Smiley I was definitely going to marry him. I think there would have been a fight between us, lol. I have loved him since Stand by Me. Probably before that. I watched TNG just because he was on it. I was also going to marry Donnie from NKOTB. I am still going to marry Donnie but he doesn't know it yet. Wink

The best thing about Wil is that he stayed sweet after all these years.

Thank you, kittykill

lylacfey, Donnie.. Ew. Joey all the way!! He is super sweet. I told him a story about how he was the bridge between my Dad and me for Trek, a young kid made me want to watch. And he wrote a sweet note when he signed my Kindle.

Wondering what's encoded inside the QR code image. I used my QR code reader but nothing's read out.
