I love the tribal belt MissingWillow <3

SheepBlue  another awesome TM bag!

I don't recall who was making a hoodie but I agree you have to have pockets  Cheesy

I started another pair of socks  Roll Eyes I need to perfect the technique don't I? These are chunky wool mock cabled ones in black/green/purple. The yarn will probably obscure the cable effect but I have to use what I have on hand and this has been on hand for about 4 years!

Use what talent you possess - the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best

Nice belt!

sheepblue - I LOVE the hunger games bag!  You are so creative.  I started a hunger games scarf - dunno if i'll finish it before the movie though.

AIMR - I get destracted like that too.  I don't want to think about in reality how many half started project I have going on.  I'm trying to make that a goal.  For every 1 (or 2) new projects, I have to go finish something that's a WIP (I have quite a few that are close to being finished - just got set to the side in favor of wanting to start something new)

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

Hunger Games bag is AWESOME!!  The girl on fire patch rocks!  I also love the little parachute box and all the arrows.  I'm having trouble figuring out what the top center patch is in the second pic, though.  I think it's my fault...I definitely need a refresh on the books before the movie comes out (i.e. re-read), my memory is terrible!

PS -- I tried that bolero from the tute you tried, sheepBlue.  I really wish she had a pic for the last step, because I didn't get it.  I ended up doing a weird combo of the tute and my own thing.  Not really crazy about the finished product though, I'll probably scrap it.  Sorry I wasn't any help!  Let me know if you try it again!

Thanks so much for all the awesome comments guys!

Abbee - That patch is suppose to be a lump of coal - I tried filling in the stitches but it warped the patch too much so I just did an abstracted outline. I can see how it might be a little difficult to figure out lol. I hope to take better pictures when the sun decides to come back out eventually.

that bolero tute is a bit vague for my tastes, especially as a beginner. If you find something better let me know!

SheepBlue - that bag is great!  I love the mockingjay pin patch!

So - I've been lamenting the pain in my hand these last few weeks.  I finally managed to get a Dr's appointment.  The Dr said "I think you might have a slight case of gout" so she drew blood, gave me meds and sent me on my way.  I went home like any good intelligent person and googled this!  If I had gout it would be a one in a million case.  99% of all first occurences are in men over 50 and in the big toe.  And the list of foods you have to avoid would practially turn me into a vegan!  No offense to anyone....  but personally, I like eating animals.  So my tests came back and all my levels are normal.  Its not gout which is a good thing.  But they didn't offer anymore helpful suggestions as to what it may be!  Me thinks (after a few other incidents) its time to find a new Doctor.  Sad  So I'm still in my crafting slump.

As soon as I read that your Dr.said you had gout I said, to my dog mostly, "Gout in the hand? On a Woman?" Looks like that Skeletal Pathology from grad school stuck. And they were testing for uric acid levels. and I have never heard of gout in the Hand. I would get another Dr. and/or call/talk to an orthopedic Dr. But mostly another Dr. haha. Hand pain is such a bitch. And to have your crafting suffer! *gasp* I hope you hand feels better!! (if you don't mind me asking, what part of your hand? if its in the heel of your palm or upper wrist, try a wrist brace. I get bouts of tendonitis and wearing the brace for just a day or two helps relieve it).

I have an embroidery machine! If you want to do personal swaps for machine embroidered items, (or are in my swaps!) let me know!

Ha ha! I love it. At least it's better than me. I have projects I could be doing, but I'm to lazy to get up and do them.

I'm with you right now, meleriffic. It's been a stressful week, so I'm pretty sure tonight I'm going to park my butt in front of my computer and watch some TV. Maybe I'll start another knit hat, that I can do mindlessly while watching. All my other current projects actually need me to pay attention to them, which I'm not up to ATM.  Roll Eyes Hopefully I'll be better this weekend!
