Hi fellow craftsters !

Every year my family hosts a Halloween party. This year, our theme was Harry Potter, which was very exciting for me, being a big HP fan. Here are some pictures of what we did. I've been working on this for the last 3 weeks and everyone (especially the kids) loved it so it was worth it! : )

The decorations

The entrance

My front door was Platform 9 ¾

The dining room

Pumpkin lights, fallen leaves, an old candlestick and a Marauder’s Map that my friend brought me back from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Hogwarts and 4 houses banners

The bathroom

The bathroom was decorated in a Chamber of Secrets theme

Pigwidgeon, someone’s hand and Trevor; the spiders escaping from the basilisk and of course, Moaning Myrtle

The living room

Snape’s Potion Cabinet: Pepperup Potion, Felix Felicis, Wolfsbane Potion, Bubotuber Pus, Veritaserum and Essence of Dittany

The food

Mummy Pigs in a Blanket

Halloween Empanadas (just some regular empanadas, the dough is like that because of food coloring)

Spiderweb Soup

Owl cookies

Chocolate and pumpkin cake

The games

The sorting ceremony

We made little house badges for everyone, which would determine the teams for the other games we played. When the guest arrived, they each drew a badge from the Sorting Hat.

Harry Potter Quiz

We asked Hp trivia questions and the team that had the most points at the end won the “house cup” (my sister’s old cheerleading trophy) filled with “galleons” (chocolate-covered dollars). Fittingly, Ravenclaw won this one.

Guess the character
Guests had a character’s name stuck on their forehead and they had to guess who it was by asking yes or no questions.

(Not pictured) Potion making

We had a variety of juice and alcohol on a table and the guest could mix them up to make their own “potion”.

-Potions kit from here
-Harry Potter banners and other printables from here, here and here
-Recipe for the cake from here

I hope you liked my pictures and Happy Halloween to everyone : )

This is great! Your mummies in blankets reminded me of Professor Qurril(sp) from Sorcerer's Stone. Super job!

Haha, they do look like Quirrel, you're right! I didn't even think about it.

I love it all!, most especially the added touch of Moaning Myrtle. Just  a thought tho, the dollar stores sell flameless candles 3to a pkg, would that not be better than having the wires sticking out o f the pumpkins? Just a thought.

Good idea! I didn't think about it, I just used this garland because we've had it for years.

This is great! I particularly like the spiders in the bathroom. And the mummy pigs-in-the-blanket. And the character game is a great idea.
