Well here's my 1st post after a very long time of stalking the Craftster community. I have other projects waiting in the wings that I'm equally as proud of but this was a lifelong dream to learn to crochet.

My mom taught my sisters how but being the youngest I just didn't catch on. But I really wanted to. Last winter my fibro kept me housebound more than usual. So I got a book from the library and set about to teach myself. I picked it up rather fast considering my wrist was broken at the time (and I didn't know it yet!)

Life got busy and I never got around to making anything other than samples of each stitch I tried.  But now with the colder weather coming again I got my yarn & hooks out and set about to find some great free patterns. Of course I found lots of amazing ones here. I also checked out Ravelry and found this pumpkin. It seemed easy enough and I had the right color yarn in what is a rather nice stash in the short 10 months since I first learned this addictive skill. There will more!!

Now be nice to me and I hopefully will get around to the other things I've made.  Kiss

LOVE your pumpkins!!!  They came out great.  I love the choice of grey for the stem.  Nice work!  Do you have a link to the free pattern you mentioned on Raverly?  I love yours so much I may try my hand at making some.  Thanks for sharing your project.

Thank you all! I don't know what kept me from submitting my work before now. But I will start making it a habit from now on.  With this kind of feedback heck yeah!

@Sugoi the stems are actually done in a sage like varigated color. But the pics colors got all wonky with the contrast of black & orange. But thank you! And here's the link to the designer at Ravelry. It will show all the patterns she has submitted.

Now off to finish my sock monkey hat!  Grin
