Hi there!
A friend of mine had a birthday recently, and a while ago I promised him an apron. So, using one he and his girlfriend gave me as a template, I made this:

(Please excuse the setting, the apple tree was the only willing model I had).

He's a fan of metal, so I thought flames and guitars were the most appropriate fabric prints to use. I also snuck some pirate theme in there, in the fabric on the wrong side.

All in all, I'm pretty proud of it. This is my first project with my new sewing machine, and the first time I took the time to press the seams - and now I will continue to do so, since they came out so nice.  Roll Eyes

Here's the detail of the embroidered applique (based on an inside joke):

And he apparently was very happy to get it! In his words, "I am wearing it right now, and I didn't think someone could feel so badass wearing an apron, but I honestly do."

A quick action shot:

Thanks for looking, C&C most welcome, especially since I'm thinking about making more in the future.

Whatever happened to the ongoing hoopla swaps?
